The value of affirmations

Affirmations are nothing more than mantras or sentences that we keep repeating on and on until we begin to control our thoughts. As you know, it is your mind that determines your life. Now, before you go on kicking yourself for the sad state of your affairs, know that you can control our thought just by constantly reminding yourself that things will get better.

This is how you use affirmations: depending on the situation or the mindset you are in find an appropriate affirmation and keep repeating it until the sour feeling is gone or your minds veers to another direction.

At this point, there is no need to imagine things otherwise, such as pretending you are getting better, for your frame of mind does not believe it anyway. You would be wasting your time.

Here is a short list of some of the affirmations that have worked for me for different situations. I have picked up these affirmations along the years: some come from church, others from books, others from other people, and so on.

The good thing about them is that there is no need to know who came up with different ones as long as you show an appreciative intention for them. That will suffice, energetically speaking.

Also, remember that, being spiritual in nature, many of them declare the name of God. If you have any problem with that, substitute God or Lord for The Universe, Spirit, or whatever you feel more comfortable with.

Remember that affirmations work best if stated in

the positive, though some that are stated in the negative work as well.

1. For when you lose something: "I always find everything that is mine by divine right."

2. For when you are late: "There is time for everything."

3. For when you are uncertain of the future: "There is nothing to fear for there is no power to hurt."

4. For when you are anxious about a meeting, a trip, or something that requires movement: "The Lord goes before me, making it easy and successful my way." Or "I am going to meet my good."

5. For when you need healing: "I am well, whole, and harmonious," or "Let there be health in my mind and body."

Now, what do you do if you resist the affirmations and your mind says: "Oh, yeah, really? Who are you kidding? To pacify your mind add the following words: "I am in the process of," "I am about to," "This is happening soon."

Make some up, if you feel like it. Have fun realizing how well they work.
